MEET DR. GOUGH

Brandon Gough, M.D., is a respected, board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Gough employs cutting edge robotic, micro-invasive, and muscle sparing surgical techniques that are designed to help his patients return to their active lifestyle as soon as possible after surgery. Dr. Gough’s focus on soft-tissue preservation allows for an expedited and more comfortable post-surgical recovery period, reduces the amount of time patients are required to stay at the hospital, and, in some cases, enables patients to complete their total joint replacement procedure on an outpatient basis.

Education has always been important to Dr. Gough, who understands that the best way to provide optimal patient care is to keep up with the latest technological innovations and developments in the field of Orthopaedic Medicine. After receiving his undergraduate degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Gough went on to earn his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He then completed his Residency and Internship in General Orthopaedics at the University of Kansas, School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas, where he was honored as the Resident Teacher of the Year. His specialized orthopaedic training continued during his Lower Extremity Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at the Arizona Institute of Bone and Joint Disorders.

Dr. Gough is a board certified member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons; member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS); Vice President of the Orthopaedic Surgery Interest Group; and is a member of the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians. Dr. Gough’s private orthopaedic practice is located within the prestigious Orthopaedic Institute of the West, which he helped create, and he has operating privileges at Scottsdale Abrazo Hospital, Liberty Hospital and a few surgery centers located in the Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ area. Dr. Gough is currently working to build a robotic center of excellence for hip and knee replacement surgery and is proud to start this new endeavor. He currently trains other surgeons from around the country and world on the latest cutting edge techniques in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement.

Fervently committed to giving back to his community, Dr. Gough has dedicated his time volunteering with a number of charitable organizations, including:

  • Magis Clinic—free clinic providing medical assistance to underserved population
  • Madonna School—educational facility for mentally handicapped children
  • Habitat for Humanity—organization devoted to building homes for the needy
  • Sienna St. Francis Clinic—free clinic inside a homeless shelter
